Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both lawyers. After moving to Oxfordshire at the age of five, Emma attended the Dragon School. Emma was inspired to become an actor by the age of six. Over the course of several years, she attended the Oxford branch Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing, dancing and acting. At the age of 10 years old, Emma took part in numerous Stagecoach productions and plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) The film adaptation of J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was cast for the very first time back in the year 1999. Emma was found by agents through the recommendation of her Oxford teacher. After eight consecutive auditions, the producer David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected for the roles of the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first cinematic appearance was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. It was the year's top earning film, smashing records on opening day and first weekend. Film critics praised the film as well as its performances by the three young stars. The Daily Telegraph, a widely read British publication, has praised Emma for her performance. Emma's performance was recognized and was awarded five awards in the film.
